15 years optician expertise: a reason to celebrate!

This year is a very special one for Mister Spex: we have turned 15. To celebrate our anniversary, we are not only celebrating our great customers, but also ourselves.

Since 16 May, our birthday campaign lasting several weeks has been running under the headline “15 Years Optician Expertise”. In the leading roles: Our Spexies! For most of the employees who were in front of the camera for the campaign, it was a completely new terrain. Nevertheless, everyone had fun, as Joëlle confirms. Joëlle is a long-time employee of Mister Spex and has been managing our store in the Alexa shopping centre in Berlin since the beginning of the store expansion in 2016.

“When I was asked if I wanted to be a part of the campaign, I didn’t hesitate for a second and immediately said that I would definitely be there,” says Joëlle: “And it was really fun! You have to be a little bit extroverted for a shoot like this. My professional position certainly helped me a bit. I felt like a supermodel for a brief moment!” The results are impressive. Our store manager Joëlle, just like the other Spexies from different locations and departments, did a super job that she can be proud of!

The campaign is not only making an impression on our website and in the stores, but also on our social media channels. In addition to the content that was produced with the employees, there are also entertaining (take a look at Instagram or TikTok) and interesting (go to our LinkedIn account here) video interviews of our two Co-CEOs Dirk and Mirko. They look back at the highlights of the past 15 years and reveal, among other things, which is their favourite eyewear model.

For our customers, there is a curated birthday collection as well as a raffle with over 15,000 prizes. And of course there was also a little surprise for our Spexies!

At our logistics and distribution centre on Wohlrabedamm in Berlin-Spandau as well as in our 74 stores and at our headquarters, our employees were sent cakes. The numerous variations ranging from chocolate cake with cherry filling to vanilla cake with lemon filling were not only a hit in terms of taste, but also with regard of design. On top of the cake was the glazed key visual of our birthday campaign: A culinary-visual treat!

Our Spexies enjoyed the cakes across all locations, and Mirko gave a short speech to all employees during the cutting at the headquarters: “Thank you very much for your tireless commitment, dear Spexies. You drive Mister Spex forward every day. You have every reason to celebrate yourselves!”
