“I didn’t expect customer advice to be such a great experience”
At Mister Spex, hundreds of store employees work every day to provide customers with a great experience in our 68 shops. From eye exams and style advice to the sale of different products, the store specialists keep our brick-and-mortar business running from Monday to Saturday (in some countries even on Sundays). With increasing retail growth (20 new stores in Germany, Austria, Sweden and Switzerland in 2022 alone), the challenges and tasks in the stores are not becoming any less. For this reason, there was an important item in our Objectives & Key Results for the last quarter of the year that was exclusively intended for our management team: a one-day internship as a sales advisor in a Mister Spex store!

Mister Spex Winter Market 2022
Shortly before the second Advent, the time had come: we celebrated our Winter Market on the grounds of our logistics and distribution centre on Wohlrabedamm in Berlin-Spandau. Hundreds of Berlin colleagues warmed up in icy temperatures with delicious drinks and food and spent a wonderful time together.

Every year in November, men around the world grow moustaches or forgo shaving altogether. The penultimate month of the year is meant to draw attention to a topic that is still talked about far too little: Men’s health. To offer a protected space for exchange, we have therefore organised a virtual “Movember” panel.

How we deal with change and resilience at Mister Spex
War in Ukraine, inflation, delivery bottlenecks and all this in the middle of a pandemic: the current times challenge us all and sometimes we don’t know how to deal with changes in the professional and overall social context. For this reason, we organised an internal workshop on the topic of change and resilience, once in German and once in English. In this workshop, we discussed which measures can help us to keep a clear head in difficult times.

Who run the world? Young professionals!
We have offspring: 38 apprentices are starting out at Mister Spex this year!
Starting their apprenticeships on 1 August and 1 September, they will gain valuable initial work experience in the areas of optics, warehouse logistics, dialogue marketing, system administration, e-commerce as well as office management.
